North Slope Recreation Area (Pikes Peak Lakes)
« on: April 23, 2008, 01:02:19 PM »
The North Slope Recreation Area, better known as North & South Catamount and Crystal Lakes open back up a week from tomorrow on May 1st.

I may try to get out of work early and walk the short hike into the inlet area to fish.  Anybody want to join me?

I may be up for it.  That's a Thursday, huh?  I've never been up there, but I know it's a great area.  Might be some shallow lakers along with the other trout.

Wild trout are too valuable to catch only once, except for those tasty little brookies!

I'd be open to another day too.  Just thought it would be good to get up there before the fish got pressured at all.  I know of a way to get into the inlet area and it is only about a :15 min hike.  I caught a bunck of brookies there and up the stream a ways.  As I was about to leave the lake, I caught a 16-17" cutbow.

Man I wish I could... Wed and Thurs are the worst days for me.  Opening day at the Catamounts are always worth it to.

I'd like to get in there as many days the first couple weeks that I can.  Rampart too.  Let me know what afternoon/evening day might work for you Rick, if you want to go together.  You work both weekend days, right?

Maybe we could get together some time that first weekend.  We can talk Saturday or next week.
